Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

What Would I Do

What would I do
If things ever went my way
What would happen
If I ever had a say

Would the world come to an end
If I would ever win
I’m not sure how anyone would react
It may even be a sin
To think it could one day happen
That I could ever win

What would I do
If things ever went my way
What would happen
If I ever had a say

To have tried all my life
To always do what I saw as right
I always put others first
In the end failure laughs in delight

As once more things collapse
Just when good seems to be in sight
When I at last found my fate
I was simply reminded I had no right

What would I do
If things ever went my way
What would happen
If I ever had a say

Why was I ever allowed to believe
That is was finally coming true
To think there was really on chance
When I was allowed to meet you
Delude myself it could be
Just because you said it was so

What would I do
If things ever went my way
What would happen
If I ever had a say
What would I do

If things ever went my way
What would happen to me
If one chance in life went my way
Would I even know what to do
If I ever had a say
What would I even do.
