Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Embrace

My heart beats
Races in my chest
Life slows
All my emotions crest

One brief touch
One look in the eyes
Makes me forget all troubles
Turns all pain into lies

I long for that touch
For times we can merge to one
To hold you tight
To never again be alone

To walk together
To share minds
Without a word
Just our thoughts that bind

I love you dear
Sometimes more than I can bear
You clear my min
Leave me without a care

My heart is yours
My very will
For all time
And longer still
