Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Loneliness

Closing of eyes brings nightmares of truth
Futility on continuing denied of all proof

Loneliness
Loneliness
The only sure truthfulness in it lies
Loneliness
Loneliness
Leave only emotions that the lost one cries

Worth only being left behind
Never in life a worth to find
False hopes only rip at the mind
Leaving a soul to groping blind

Pain inflicted deep to the heart
Driving home pain that tears flesh apart
Pain to the body brings life to skin
So something other than despair is felt again

Loneliness
Loneliness
His to have for the rest of time
Loneliness
Loneliness
Because learning his place was such a crime

Union of body and minds as sought
Promise true was found or so he thought
But just a diversion he appears to be
A thing unjust for all to see

For all the world he bears all fault
Rather than the love he had sought
Life to share together at any cost
But all in an instant was what he lost

Loneliness
Loneliness
A way of life that kills more each day
Loneliness
Loneliness
Too much time to keep thoughts at bay

Day consumed by what was to be
Dreams shattered the lithe never to see
Surrounded by other souls you cannot share
Passing by without thought or care

They do not know nor care what you became
Considering your world only another game
Remnant of a vow that you truthfully made
But which turned out to be only a charade

Loneliness
Loneliness
Files the night with unending despair
Loneliness
Loneliness
Only thinking of the promises they would be there

Wills closing in to the mock thoughts of repair
Of a mind forgotten and left only despair
Dark envelops the thoughts and will to live
No hope does waking, or even sleep give

When briefly respite is granted from all fear
It only brings dreams without the slightest cheer
Reminders that only you bear the entire fault
That any happiness will fall to the assault

Loneliness
Loneliness
The only destination that your path will ever lead
Loneliness
Loneliness
The burden from which you will never be freed
Loneliness
Loneliness
Never to receive what you need.
