Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Don’t Know

We shared so much in such a short time
Joined in songs of heart and silly rhymes
We wanted to run, would that we could have
But to do other obligations our will had to cave

Our love was complete our passions compelled
That joining was bliss and together they held
Shared words and thoughts together they dreamed
Embraces in the night, for all time it seemed

Fantasy and life they molded as one
A joining they swore would never be undone
Together forever promises they made
Love, even worship, these vows would not fade

The look into each other’s eyes showed only truth
Seeing to the soul, needing no more proof
Support for each other to defeat the demons of the past
With shared strength it would be a life that would last

But the torturing of the past refused to resign
Attacked their hope and all their new design
Past took reign over their plans and decisions
Memories changed and displace love’s vision

The angel departed leaving broken heart
Breaching the destiny, pierced as by darts
The fate that was met was but laid to waste
The long searched for union they had chased

Truths known and seen, by promises left untold
Allowed to become truth, twisted lies took hold
And spirit true is broken, love that should never be undone
Set aside without mercy, soul broken that was won

Hope dwindles that always was to be
Kept alive the destiny became hard to see
Faith fades daily that the tide will again turn
As long as life lasts though, that love still will burn.
