Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Angel of Mercy

Angel Of Mercy, A title you earned
Angel Of Mercy, A title you try to refuse
Sacrifice so much of your self
For family, friends, for strangers without worth

Give your whole your very heart away
Keeping nothing for your own
Touch the heart of so many
Touch them to their very soul

Refuse to even take credit
For any of the things you do
Angel Of Mercy, Healer of so many
Angel Of Mercy, With no justice of your own

Little Girl that is so dear to me
Only accepts the good in others
Will not see your own worth
Nor that you should be proud

Others are proud of you
Understand what you had to do
How unfair life has been
And what you do for us

You are a gift to me
That I met at my deepest need
You give me what little strength I have
Little Girl, dear to so many
