Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

3 AM

It is 3 AM
I am all alone
Thinking of your eyes
How the love shown

I feel my touch
On your tiny face
Silken skin reacting
As my fingers trace

I remember the warmth
Spreading with each embrace
Can feel how each touch
All my cares erase

I close my eyes
I only see your face
And reach for your hand
So our fingers interlace

It is 3 AM
I am all alone
Sensing you laying
Next to me, prone

The tracing of you back
Tender nape of neck
Made it so hard
To keep control in check

I so long again
To kiss you cheek
To reach around
To caress each peak

The taste of you lips
As they became moist
The smile I could hear
In your quiet voice

It is 4 AM
I am all alone
When I close my eyes
I see the one I've known

I touch your lily
I feel it jump to life
It calls to me
Above reality's strife

My mouth gently touches
Deep into your neck
While my passions swell
I try to keep in check

I kiss you lips
I share your tongue
With my eyes closed
The night feels young

But it is 4 AM
And I am all alone
Facing a future
Filled with the unknown

It is 4 AM
I am all alone
But I see my queen
Upon a throne
