Quote of the moment

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Alone In Time

Alone in time
Lost in space
Wandering alone
Without a place

Only a misfit
In the world of others
Any attempt to fit in
Only all hope smothers

Worn down by trying
To be places not wanted
Tired of his being
The one not counted

Always there for others
Rejected for his own needs
Only there to serve
His own thoughts are but weeds

Blight upon the world
Annoyance to Society
Any protest on his part
Just an attack on propriety

Toy to be used at desire
Used up and thrown away
There to take all the blame
On him the price to pay

Pretend he doesn’t even exist
His wishes certainly do not
It is never about him
Promises to him easily forgot

Used at will and when needed
Used whenever one feels stirred
Then the feeling he help find
To another are just transferred

There to make others feel good
Provide what others have denied
When no longer that is needed
Cast once more to the side

Builder of emotion and desire
That others have let stale
Then feelings he help rekindle
Replaced by a heart piercing nail

Hidden behind a veil in secret
His existence that is forbidden
The reality of it being
Kept from the world hidden

Until it is inconvenient again
Then once more he is crushed
Left behind to his own devises
Being once more simply flushed

It is never about him
Just as he never has a say
He is only here to serve
When not wanted to go away

He made promises and keeps them
So will keep the secrets quite
Silent in his own prison
The noble White Knight

He will take all the blame
World knowing it all his fault
The price he has force to pay
He must hide in a secret vault

While others go back
To the life as before
Once more he is closed
Behind that locked door

He never really existed
He was only a passing toy
Quickly wearing out welcome
Soon found to be cloy

Left once more alone in time
Forever lost in void space
To wander all eternity alone
That is his only place.
